About the Guest Speakers

Michael Koegler, Managing Principal, Market Alpha Advisors
Michael has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Prior to co-founding Market Alpha, Michael was a Principal at ViableMkts, a market structure and FinTech advisory firm, and the Head of Marketing and Strategy at Javelin Capital Markets, a CFTC-regulated Swap Execution Facility.  He has an extensive background in a wide range of asset classes, including liquid rates, OTC derivatives, futures, foreign exchange, municipal securities, corporate bonds and structured credit.  He has a deep knowledge base in the technology and market structure of all fixed income, currency and commodity markets.

During the course of his career, Michael has held senior leadership positions at sell-side financial institutions, including JPMorgan Chase, Bear Stearns, UBS and Jefferies.  He has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the College of William & Mary and an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Michael is a Commodity Trading Advisor and holds series 24, 7, 63 and 3 licenses with FINRA and the NFA.
 

Pieter van Vredenburch, Principal, Market Alpha Advisors
Pieter has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Prior to co-founding Market Alpha, Pieter was the Head of Global Markets Treasury for the Americas at HSBC, as well as their representative on the Federal Reserve Bank’s Alternative Reference Rate Committee (“ARRC”), where he was one of 15 designated industry representatives that voted to transition away from LIBOR and into SOFR.  He has an extensive background in a wide range of asset classes, including liquid rates, OTC derivatives, futures, FX, municipal derivatives, corporates and structured credit.  He has a deep knowledge base in the technology and market structure of fixed income, currency and commodity markets.

During the course of his career, Pieter has held senior leadership positions with UBS, RBC and HSBC and at FinTech firms such as Droit financial Technologies and Quant Insight.  He has a BA in Economics and Finance from Southern New Hampshire University.
