COVID-19 Update: A Message from the Chair of Our Board of Directors

To All of Our Members:

It has been a few weeks since I last communicated with you. During that time you have responded decisively to the pandemic by supporting your customers and communities with Payroll Protection Loans, Disaster Relief Loans, and other direct programs.

Many of you worked on weekends and off hours to make these programs successful in spite of numerous roadblocks. Your efforts did not go unnoticed. Years from now, our customers and communities will remember how you stood by them.

It should make us all proud to be part of this effort.

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago quickly reacted at the same time with the COVID-19 Relief Program featuring a 0% advance rate, the $20,000 COVID-19 Relief Grants, and support for our community nonprofit lenders.

You as members are utilizing these programs successfully as evidenced by your record participation, 301 advances and 280 grant closings in one day last week. That response is truly amazing. I am humbled by your commitment.

In closing, please accept my gratitude and respect for what you have accomplished.
