  • May 26, 2021

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBank Chicago) is pleased to announce that our Board of Directors has appointed Andrea L. Zopp to fill a vacant independent directorship on the Board. Ms. Zopp will serve as a public interest independent director effective as of June 1, 2021, and will complete an existing term which expires December 31, 2024.

Ms. Zopp is an accomplished executive, board member, and civic leader. Her background, which includes senior roles leading corporate governance and compliance in the private sector as well as community engagement and advocacy in the public and nonprofit sectors, makes her particularly well suited for Board service. In her current role as Managing Partner at Cleveland Avenue, Chicago Illinois, Ms. Zopp leads the organization’s work investing in and supporting minority and women entrepreneurs and their companies.

Ms. Zopp also currently serves as a director of Relativity, a global e-discovery and data management software company and as a director of Empowerment & Inclusion Capital I Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (EPWR-NYSE). She is an experienced business leader and attorney with significant transaction, litigation, and human capital experience serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive teams at three publicly traded companies.

Ms. Zopp was the first woman or African American to be named as the first Assistant State's Attorney in the Cook County State's Attorney’s Office. This role, which is the number two position under the elected State’s Attorney, serves as the COO of the second largest prosecutor’s office in the country.

Ms. Zopp holds a BA in History of Science from Harvard College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and she served on the Harvard Alumni Association Board and the Board of the Chicago Chapter of the Harvard Alumni Association.
